Our Board of Trustees

Our Board are the people to give strategic oversight of the
organisation and make sure we do everything by the law.


  Laura Goad Chair of Trustees   Laura’s first experience of Young Advisors was as a team lead for 4 years. She is passionate about youth voice and the released potentials when we effectively and authentically listen to every voice, especially young people.   Her path to Young Advisors includes teaching, in the UK and Uganda, working with young people on civic action projects in a post-conflict setting, community development and designing and delivering training.   She is currently privileged to be chair of the YA board, working closely with the YA network to ensure this inspirational, ground breaking charity keeps going.

  Oliver Dyson Vice Chair of Trustees   After 5 years as a Young Advisor, Oliver wanted to give back as Young Advisors gave him so much therefore he wanted to become a trustee to give back and help other people.  Having been part of his local group since the start Oliver has been part of most of the different projects that his local group has been a part of.  Oliver is interested in cycling, website technologies, military aircraft photography and one day wants to setup his own business.

  Conal Devitt Trustee   Conal is a Community Asset worker at Sefton CVS with extensive  experience of youth and  community work and community development.  He has worked in N Ireland, Scotland and England and has operated in both local and central government arenas within education departments and criminal justice settings.  When he retired from the senior civil service, he went to work for the Whitechapel Homeless Charity in Liverpool before joining Sefton CVS. His hobbies are RUNNING, RUNNING AND RUNNING.

Conal Devitt
Trustee

Conal is a Community Asset worker at Sefton CVS with extensive  experience of youth and  community work and community development.

He has worked in N Ireland, Scotland and England and has operated in both local and central government arenas within education departments and criminal justice settings.

When he retired from the senior civil service, he went to work for the Whitechapel Homeless Charity in Liverpool before joining Sefton CVS.
His hobbies are RUNNING, RUNNING AND RUNNING.

  Ian Coxan Trustee    Ian is an Independent Coaching Consultant with over twenty five years’ experience working and coaching teams and individuals. He is passionate about helping people realise their full potential. He helps individuals develop their skills and performance by collaborating on existing issues, supporting people to adapt into new roles and responsibilities.  Prior to joining Young Advisors as a Trustee he was The Team Manager for Youth Engagement for North East Lincolnshire Council working with a wide range of young people from a broad spectrum of back grounds.

She joined the Young Advisors network in 2011 as a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed team member and is now lucky enough to be Team Lead at Sefton Young Advisors.  She have been working with and for young people in various capacities ever since she can remember and she is passionate about ensuring that young people are engaged, encouraged, and empowered to unlock their full potential.

  Kim Cooper Trustee   Kim has a great passion for Young Advisors! Her current main focus as a trustee, is training and developments. The things she is interested In are anti social behaviour, gun and knife crime, substance misuse, personal and team development, youth voice and participation.
